Terms of Service -

Everything listed within this TOS is non-negotiable for ALL commissions and premades offered by Blinded by Sunlight, regardless of price. From time to time, this is updated; please read through it often to know what is expected from both parties. 

Key Policies (Must Read)

By commissioning Blinded by Sunlight, you agree to the following:

  • All sales are final once completed

  • A 30% non-refundable down payment is required based on your commission

  • Payment plans must be followed — no chasing for payments

  • No work will begin or progress without your payment(s) or continuous late payments

  • One 30-day adjustment window for any additional adjustments on your commission

  • After 30 days → all work is considered a new commission and may be declined

  • Suits must be worn properly — ANY misuse IS NOT covered

  • Once completed, and you have the suit in your possession, your commission is considered finished and not an ongoing obligation

  • Blinded by Sunlight reserves the right to refuse service at any time

General Information

  • You MUST be 18 years or older to commission

  • Minors MUST work through a parent/guardian only

  • All work is created in a pet-friendly, smoke-free environment

Work Hours & Communication

  • Work hours: Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM

  • Responses are given during business hours ONLY

  • Communication is handled via email ONLY

  • You have 48 hours to respond to any/all messages regarding your commission

Quotes

  • One free quote per person every 3 months

  • Quotes are valid for 3 months

  • Must include:

    • Clear reference sheet (2–3 full body views)

    • Commission type

    • Relevant details

  • Quotes are NOT discussed at conventions or via social media

Payments & Payment Plans

  • 30% non-refundable down payment required

  • 30% is based on your specific commission

  • Payment plans: 3–5 months MAX

  • Payments must be made on the agreed date

  • You are responsible for tracking your payments

  • Missed or late payments may result in a cancellation

  • I will not chase you for payment

Important

  • No work, adjustments, repairs, or modifications will be started without full payment received upfront.

  • Completed items will NOT be released until fully paid

Pricing & Conduct

  • Prices are firm and non-negotiable

  • No trades, discounts, or rush orders

  • Harassment, manipulation, or disrespect will result in:

    • Cancellation

    • Ban from future commissions eligibility 

Commissions & Workflow

  • Commissions are accepted on a very limited and selective basis

  • Work begins after:

    • The down payment is received

    • Materials arrive

  • I reserve the right to work in any order

  • No deadlines or guaranteed timelines

Fit, Wear & Responsibility

  • Suits are built based on standard wear (belt at the hips unless specified)

  • Non-standard wear may affect:

    • Fit

    • Function

    • Structural integrity

Important

  • Issues with your suit caused by wear, handling, or body positioning are not defects

  • These are not covered under adjustments, repairs, or warranty

 

Client Responsibility

  • You must disclose any non-standard wear habits or needs

  • Failure to do so may impact final fit and performance

Duct Tape Dummy Accuracy

  • Your stance should reflect how you naturally stand and walk in everyday life. DO NOT exaggerate your stance (e.g., wide-legged or posed positions), as this will distort the final fit.

  • Fit is based entirely on the provided duct tape dummy. Improperly constructed DTDs will directly affect the final fit. The maker is not responsible for fit issues resulting from inaccurate DTDs.

  • If a DTD is deemed unusable, a new one must be submitted before work begins.

  • Alterations due to DTD inaccuracies are not covered and may be declined.

  • The client must maintain a natural, relaxed posture during DTD construction.
    DTDs created in unnatural or posed stances may result in incorrect fit and are not the responsibility of the maker.

DTD Tutorial Resources

Use, Damage & Handling

  • Fursuits are luxury items and must be treated accordingly.

  • DO NOT:

    • Pull, yank, twist, or drag parts of the suit

    • Carry or move the suit improperly (lifting or carrying via ears, muzzle, jaw, etc)

    • Allowing others to wear your suit

  • Engage in behavior that causes stress to seams or fabric

 

Important

  • Damage caused by misuse, improper handling, or excessive stress will NOT be repaired or replaced

 

Repairs & Warranty

  • 30-day warranty for minor repairs ONLY

  • If your commission comes back for a repair, please only leave the item that is to be fixed. No personal totes, bags, or other items may be left in addition. 

  • After 30 days → all repairs are paid

  • Repairs may be:

    • accepted

    • declined

  • Not Covered:

    • Misuse

    • Improper wear

    • Fabric failure outside seams

    • Unauthorized alterations

  • Repairs are not guaranteed and may be declined entirely.

Project Completion

  • Once completed and delivered, the commission is considered complete

  • There is no ongoing obligation beyond warranty

Post-Completion Work

  • Any additional work is:

    • not guaranteed

    • considered new work

    • may be declined at the maker’s discretion or current pending commissions

Perceived Issues

  • The maker is not responsible for addressing perceived or hypothetical issues.

  • Requests based on:

    • preference

    • anxiety

    • Non-existent defects may be declined

Third-Party Input

  • Advice or opinions from others (friends, family, etc.) do not override the original agreement between the maker and the commissioner.

  • Third-party input does not obligate additional work

Right to Refuse Service

  • Blinded by Sunlight may refuse or discontinue work at any time, especially in cases of:

    • Payment issues

    • Repeated boundary violations

    • Unreasonable behavior

Shipping & Delivery

  • The commissioner pays shipping

  • Items are shipped after full payment is received and has cleared

  • No local pickup unless agreed upon

Refunds & Cancellations

  • 30% down payment is non-refundable

  • Completed work is non-refundable

  • Refunds depend on progress (case-by-case)

  • Harassment or policy violations = no refund

Forfeit / Abandonment

  • Unpaid items after 30 days → considered abandoned

  • Items may be:

    • altered

    • resold

Social Media

  • Work may be posted unless requested otherwise

  • Spreading misinformation may result in:

    • bans

    • possible legal action

Final Agreement

Failure to read or follow these Terms of Service is the responsibility of the commissioner.
